What are hard enamel pins?

Hard enamel pins are made by filling recessed metal lines with enamel and polishing the surface smooth, resulting in a flat, durable finish. Because of this process, hard enamel pins are known for their clean look, vibrant colors, and long-lasting quality. They are ideal for everyday wear on bags, jackets, and display boards.

Why are some items sold as pre-orders?

Pre-orders allow me to offer designs that may not otherwise be possible to produce in limited-run quantities. By collecting orders ahead of time, I can accurately determine demand and ensure enough pins are made without excessive overstock.

Pre-orders also help fund production costs such as manufacturing, plating, shipping, and quality checks, allowing me to keep prices fair while maintaining quality.

How do pre-orders work?

When you place a pre-order, you are purchasing an item that is not yet in hand but is currently in production or scheduled to be produced.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Pre-orders are open for a limited time

  • Production begins after the pre-order period closes

  • Manufacturing timelines can vary

  • Once pins arrive, they are inspected, graded, packed, and prepared for shipment

Pre-order timeline:

  • After pre-orders close, production and transit to me typically take 5–8 weeks

  • This timeline may vary slightly due to manufacturer schedules or shipping delays

Estimated timelines will always be shared in the product listing. Please note that pre-order items cannot be canceled once production has started.

Shipping information

Pre-order items:

  • Pre-order items require additional time before shipping

  • After the pre-order period closes, it typically takes 5–8 weeks for the items to be produced and arrive to me

  • Once items are received, they will be inspected, graded, and packed before shipping to customers

Ready-to-ship items:

  • In-stock items are packed and shipped as quickly as possible

Shipping to you:

  • Shipping from me to you typically takes 1–2 weeks, depending on your location and carrier

  • Tracking information will be provided once your order has shipped

How should I take care of my enamel pins?

To keep your pins looking their best:

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to water, perfume, lotions, or chemicals

  • Remove pins before washing bags or clothing

  • Store pins in a dry place when not in use

  • Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or fingerprints

  • Handle plated finishes carefully to prevent scratches or tarnishing

While hard enamel pins are durable, proper care will help preserve both the enamel and plating over time.

What does “grading” mean?

Because enamel pins are handmade products, minor imperfections can naturally occur during production. Grading is the process of sorting pins based on their overall condition and visible flaws.

All pins are functional and wearable regardless of grade, but grading helps set clear expectations for collectors.

What are the different pin grades?

Grade A

  • No visible flaws or only very minor imperfections

  • May include tiny scratches or marks that are barely noticeable

  • Best suited for collectors and display

Grade B

  • Minor visible flaws such as small scratches, enamel dips, or slight plating imperfections

  • Flaws are noticeable upon closer inspection but do not affect overall appearance or wearability

Grade C

  • Noticeable scratches or flaws

  • Cosmetic imperfections are clearly visible

  • Fully functional but offered at a discounted price when available

Grading focuses on appearance only and does not affect the structural integrity of the pin.

Will grading be specified when I purchase?

Yes. Product listings will clearly state whether pins are Grade A only or if multiple grades are available. If multiple grades are offered, you will be able to select your preferred grade while supplies last.
